Anaerobic Digestion

The days of burning waste for energy are changing. It is now possible to convert organic waste to Biogas, which is a Renewable Natural Gas, through Anaerobic Digestion. This fuel can then be used to heat homes and power generators to create electricity. Haulers and recyclers have increasingly become more involved in recycling food waste in the U.S. as food waste has become a more common renewable energy fuel source. Meanwhile, fees and restrictions for dumping organic waste in landfills and other unsustainable areas are rising. Massachusetts currently has a restriction for companies that generate more than 1 ton of food waste per week and starting in November 2022 that will go down to ½ ton per week. After the Biogas is collected, the remaining Digestate is used as an organic fertilizer, animal bedding, and a number of other products.

Let us help you to comply with the changing regulations.
